Artisan Makers & Artists

Each year the Spring Festival offers Workshop Residencies to selected artisan makers. These provide workspaces for free for four-six weeks, allowing makers and artists to meet customers and to also develop their individual practices in a communal setting. At weekends and on bank holidays the workshops become Open Studios, giving visitors a chance to meet the makers and artists, and to understand their work in more detail – with the additional opportunity to buy and commission works as well.

In response to current circumstances, we have had to cancel all the physical aspects of the Spring Festival. But the Open Studios feel important : they are a vital part of our annual calendar and, more importantly, support the livelihoods of the many makers we work with.

We and have consequently decided to move the Open Studios online as virtual workshop residencies. Almost all the makers who would have been at the farm at weekends and bank holidays for the Spring Festival are now represented on the website and on our instagram account.

It feels both an honour and a privilege to work with so many gifted artisan makers. We have worked closely with all who are taking part in the online Open Studios and chosen a selection of their favourite works for sale.

Please do take some time to explore each maker’s stall and contact us for sales and / or bespoke orders.

If you would like information about work for sale – or would like to commission bespoke work – please do not hesitate to contact the Festival office.
